OK, here's an Open Door if we want it...IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!

I just got off the phone with Shannon Murphy who is in administration for PFUSA in Colorado. I called Oregon Independent Miners first, but left a message as no one was there at the time. I explained to Shannon some of the things we've been talking about here on the forum. I asked her that if we were to throw in with them if we could have our own recreational/small miners and prospectors site on their website. I told her there were 50 - 100 (hope I'm close) of us who might be willing to join PFUSA if we could emphasize the miners goals. I explained there are miners, and would be miners, all over the country who live in rural areas, far from any meeting place, but this site would be our gathering place, a lightning rod so to speak. I explained it would only benefit PFUSA as we'd have to join them to have that page, plus, the net is only growing by leaps and bounds, and every prospector in the future would have to access us through THEIR site. This, of course, would expose them to PFUSA. And trust me guys, the things PFUSA both fight against and stand up for are things that either directly, or indirectly relate to mining and therefore are of great concern to us. I told her we may want our site patterened somewhat after that Greenie Elks River site: simple, user friendly, and easily gets you the info needed to take action on. You would go to PFUSA's homepage and click on our icon to go to our site. Well, Shannon was very enthusiastic. She said she would check to make sure this would all be covered by their corporation laws, which she thought they would be. She said we could feed the info needed to their Web-master who would post it in our site. She said we would be protected by their tax ID# and Corporation laws. They would support us and would love to have the latest-up-to-datest info pertaining to mining concerns (remember: that's a 20,000 people organization behind us...we would almost be like an organization within an organization as our emphasis would be on mining). We would be offered a 2 for 1 membership deal if we wanted it ($12.50 instead of $25). We would receive their newspaper which comes out monthly (I believe), we would receive fax "alerts" to important legislation. And they're implementing a system to send out automatic "email alerts" as well. I am now sending them an email outline proposing just what I mentioned to you here. This way they have it in print. Of course, I told her that we would all have to agree on this first. I have no right to speak for any of you, all I'm doing is shoving on a door that seemed to open REAL easy and enthusiastically! So YOU, YOU, and YOU have the say on this. Think about it and please respond ASAP. Is something like this a Yea or a Nay? If the response is small then I would say that we're just fooling ourselves here and maybe we don't have the juice we need to either assemble our own organization, or to latch onto a group like PFUSA. If we don't have the numbers we should then just drop the whole idea and join a group like PFUSA or OIM individually, stay with our local clubs and individually write our letters to issues which can be brought up here on the forum, just like we have been. But let's seriously consider having a BM or getting off the pot. Also, if we get our own political action site then we can use this forum more for fun stuff like actual mining stories and tips and copius quantities of nutritious BS, just like God intended it to be. WELL? WHAT SAY YE? RC
