Excellent post, Chuck. I believe that you echo the thoughts of us all. You mentioned an animation aimed at very young, suseptible minds, have you noticed what your children (or in my case, Grandchildren) are being taught in school these days? The 'GREEN' mentality is even more prevalent in higher education (they've already been primed in gradeschool, and taught not to question authority) now they can be instructed on the application of thier "vast" knowledge (employment with the BLM, USFS, NPS, NFWS etc. etc.) !!!!! This began a long time back, but the present "regime" has carried it to an all time low through the NEA. The pictures they use for this "education" are exactly like the ones on the Elk River site and worse!! Also, the Feds control most, if not all, of the scientific B.S. that's generated--no cooperation/no grant monies. Who licenses the media?!! There are people on this forum who are doing something about the problem by mentoring kids in the field of prospecting/panning, so it WILL change, one day. Geez!!
