You are right sun pilot !! The goldmaster is the detector of choise but the goldbug or other manual ground balance detectors will work as well. The minelabs will only hear the larger or unweathered pieces of the gold basin . While hunting meteorites one morning I picked up 5 nuggets totaling a little over an once and a slug of meteorites with my goldmaster . So I went back with my sd2000 with the 11 inch coil and spent all afternoon . I found one meteorite with it and I specked 2 that I couldn't hear with it and no nuggets . When I got back to my truck I checked them with the goldmaster and could definatly hear them but they weren't as loud as the one I found with the minelab . I have had a couple trips up there and had the oppertunity to hunt with Pieter and Deborah Hydelar who now use the sd"d all the time . After they did a few tests they pulled out some antique gold bugs and thats what they hunted with for the duration . They found a slug of them . Needless to say I have an sd2000 for sale cheap !! Happy Huntin John Blennert
