Did you try holding your coil above the ground about 10 inches and hit the tune button?

Hoss takes great issue with me on doing it this way, but I have found that it really helps quiet the machine down. One day after having a heck of a problem I tried this out of frustration for not knowing what else to do.

Sure enough the machine finally settled down. But I was concerned that maybe I had lost sensitivity and it wouldn't find gold.

Well those fears vanished when 30 minutes later I pulled out a .8 gram at 8 inches next to a bush.

Before doing this tune to the ground the machine was so chattery, that I doubt I would have heard a nugget had I ran into one.

Let's be careful out there!

Doc
