I think you are right, I had that problem before come to think of it. I tried to tune it to the ground as Greg suggested and that didn't help either. The double D worked fine it was just the mono loop coil that was giving the problem . As far as how much rain they got I'm not sure , I left here in the morning from Phoenix where it was raining to sunny skies out there all day, windy and cool though . There were a few puddles standing around but not enough to fire up my dredge.
