G'Day Mate, Just couldn't let this one slip by. Your post to Rhodium. Re: Thanks for nothing!
I wonder how our unhappy posters from Florida would feel about having to vote if it beacme compulsory here in the US. Would like to hear their comments then. Perhaps it would bring daylight to their lives once the head was removed from the a$$. Once I found out it was a compulsory situation in OZ, thought it would be a damn good idea for the US. As you probably know the voting minority elects everything for the non-voting majority in US.
Don't spit the dummy over the folks in Canberra and the fluffy cloud etc. The same situation exists here. I kinda take issue with you on the public service zombies, as not all of them are, OZ or here. There are some very brilliant (Kim Beasley?) hard working Public Service(Civil Service-US) people in OZ and the big problem is that they are not in decision making positions. Thje decision makers seem to be politically motivated , non-forward thinking people with little motivation other than to say YES to everything. You know, protecting their retirement, and not doing what is right. We have to contend with extreme liberalism, coming out of the large , well known Eastern colleges. Our slippery EEL pres, for example.
You are absolutely right to follow this BLM thing, cause OZ does seem to follow suit with what we do, and then try to institute it even when it is outdated and unworkable. That is evident in a lot of "Little Johnny Howlers" current thinking.(privatisation-Telstra sale-abo stance) By the way, is Pauline H still in politics or has she gone back to her fish and chip shops?
Once you find that big lunker, don't leave it in the ground. That would be a terrible waste.
Jim/MT
