Hi Jason

I live in AZ. and we have some pretty hot ground here and I am not aware of the soil conditions you have there, I went hunting this weekend with a buddy of mine and he uses a Tesoro that has a manual ground balance and since the soil in this area is highly mineralized he was having a lot of problems with the hot rocks giving him false signals , the day was wearing down and he got a signal which he dug and it turned out to be a rivet from some old timers jeans then he got another signal right close to it that he almost didn't dig but thought he better just to be safe and it turned out to be a nugget that was around 1 DWT. I have been metal detecting since 91 and I started with a Gold Bug (manual ground balance) which was a good machine in its day but no nuggets , then I bought a Tesoro lobo ST a couple of years ago but still no nuggets . Then I put out some good money for a Minelab SD2200D this past Nov. and I have found 11 nuggets with it so far and I still have not really perfected this great piece of equipment, the best part about it is that I'm still hunting the same ground that I hunted with the other machines but now I'm finding the gold. The Minelab MPS machine with auto ground balance which can be switched to a fixed mode after ground balancing if the ground is not to hot is the cats meow . So take it from me I have a lot to learn with this machine yet but I'm finding it in the process.

GOTO the photo forum post "Nugget Trading !" this was Fridays find in an area that has been pounded by some of the best machines and Minelabs were actually banned there at one time because of their effecincy.

PS this is not BS

Whether its a factory rep. saying it or not, if you have a Minelab and there is gold present you will find the GOLD !

Keep the coil swinging and the headphones ringing !

Mike
