Where in North Carolina did you go? Im in central NC about 40 miles east of Charlotte. My parents live within walking distance of a placer mine that yielded hundreds (not a typo) of nuggets from 1 ounce to 14 pounds. The ground there has NEVER been successfully detected because of the ground being pretty much black sand. (ie lots of metal detectors wrapped around trees)
Also, how much would telephone lines interphere with the Minelabs?
