If there is shallow bedrock near the banks, it would be easiest just to pickup where you see it, and just follow it into the creek. It should save you a lot of hard work doing it this way, and you will always know you are right on bedrock getting ALL the goodies. Remember when you find a crack or crevis, BREAK it all apart (a lot easier than it sounds). I usually take a 6 foot rock bar, and jam in in and break it all up so I can get my nozzle into it. SOme times the cracks try to hide from you, so clean the bedrock off real good, you would be surprised how large and deep some of the "tiny" cracks really are.
