I like the new Oregon law!

July 01, 1999 at 07:52:31

I read the post below about the new Oregon law and I think it is great, especially since I live here. The only thing that bugs me though is that the federal government is doing all they can to stop mining. Last week, I went in to file a "Notice of Intent" on a mining claim I was already working. I thought I would try to be legal, even though the claim is remote and the chances of anyone showing up is nil. I met up with an a@!hole of a ranger. He told me that he needed to come out and look at my operation and I must quit mining at once. He said he would get around to me next month and he probably would not approve my operation (even though there are many others dredging the creek). So I gave him directions to a claim that I was not working and said thank you very much, let me know if I can work their. heh heh. Needless to say I am still dredging and he can kiss my a@! ,,,

Just goes to show, if you try to be legal. You will get shafted. Best to keep your mouth shut, because most of the idiots that work for the federal government don't want to put in the effort to be decent. I hate this communist government of ours. Good luck and good prospecting.
