Hey SabraJim, thanks for sharing the letter. Nevada has (usually) always had good reps, democrat or republican, and it seems it's the same way here in Idaho....good people. All 4 reps responded to my letters, some in great detail, however, Sen Larry Craig's had the most concrete info on fighting 3809 up to this point. He says:

...."I included legislative language in both the fiscal year 2000 Supplemental Appropriations and the Interior Department appropriations bills asking for moratorium restrictions on these regulations. This Administration's policies have hurt mining a great deal, and as long as I have a say in public policy, I will fight to keep mining a strong industry in the West...."

I heard through the grapevine that Babbit has been forced to give more time to public comment. Anyone know if this is true or not?
