I dont have much time as I have to get ready for work in a few minutes but here goes. I went metal detecting with my SD2200d today. My partner brought his Gold Bug 2. The place where he took me has produced exactly 60 nuggets counting todays take. The largest was 20.6 dwt, I think the next was about 1/2 ounce. There were several specimens taken too. The point I am getting at is this is about as close to a sure thing as I can find. I got a lot of faint signals. I dug the first 10 or so but found nothing but hot rocks, and trash. I cant blame the detector as I havent been able to put the time into it I should have, but I got skunked. The fellow I went with found two specimens as we were walking out. Would a Koss amplifier have been of use here? I also found that the bungee cord is a gotta have item. Six hours of swinging that coil and I can just now bend my arm again. Also, would the state of charge on the battery affect the performance of the detector? Thanks. Billy
