Can't Decide - Need Advice!

I am trying to decide between purchasing a Whites "Double D" coil or a Whites "Gold Max" coil for my GM4b. I am trying to find a way to get more stability in lousy ground AND more depth. I would appreciate any feedback, opinions, stats etc that might help me decide.
