eleutration? December 04, 1999 at 13:46:17 Has anyone ever heard of or seen an eleutration(sic) table? I am sure Ive mispelled it but it works based on separation by specifice gravity. The ones Ive heard of are based on a column of water into which ore crushed to a very fine mesh is introduced at the middle of the column. The water flow separates the ore, allowing the heavier material to fall to the bottom of the column and the lighter material to float out. Is something like this suitable for very small scale mining? How small must the ore be crushed? I have a jaw crusher to take the rock to about 50 mesh but I know it would need to be much smaller.
