Alternatives to Dry Washers
December 08, 1999 at 09:41:03
Dry Washers don't work very well in the southwest unless the soil is very dry. I've seen several recirculating sluices in operation, but haven't paid a lot of attention. Does anyone have any experience they could share on using wet washers in the desert where water has to be hauled? Have access to a backhoe, so could process a fair amount of dirt, but would also be interested in a smaller setup for sampling.
Am interested in techniques, specific equipment and anything else that would be useful. Area has lots of clay, so setup would have to deal with this.
Realize this is a bit different question from our usual detector chat, but hope someone might have info.
