By "BB," are we talking about a .177 caliber shot? If so, that is a much smaller target than other SD users claim to be able to find. Perhaps the fact that is was made of copper, a higher conductive metal than gold, made it possible to sense. Interesting comment regarding the idea that you don't want to find smaller nuggets than that, Russ. At the Gold Shows I usually set up a display case with my last 3 or 4 weeks detecting recoveries, some 600 to 800 nuggets. (Tom saw it, I believe, at Reno) All the SD users I know tell me that SD's won't find about 95% of the nuggets in the tray. Gimme a break, why handicap yourself by using a machine that misses 95% of the gold? Sure, big nuggets are fine, but even the "outlaw" goes for small gold when he wants to! :o) Not trying to start a "detector war" here; as I have said many times in the past, the best gold-finding "machine" is the person waving the coil, not the color of the control box.
