Hi Rob,

I never heard them (tiny stuff) called that and I think it is an appropriate fit. At first---finding "any" nugget is thrilling but after you have done it for a while, those little grainers & less get to be a "big pain". I got to the point (like a few others I know :<) that I would rather come home empty handed than spend all day chasing several pieces that when put together--may equall the size of a "BB".

I reckon we get spoiled after digging the nicer stuff. Kind of like digging zinc pennies by the ton rather than a few old silver coins. Just ain't worth it!!!

Let's see-----480 grains = 1 ounce (that's a lot of digging:<)

P.S.-----Did y'all ever do the Quartzsite hunt you were talking about (if so how did it go)?
