I went to a 1792 Plantation with a friend of mine,Woody Cox,
and we found 11 Civil War Bottles(9 Black glass and 2 Blue
glass whiskey bottles) in the Front yard in a flower bed.
This house has a very unique history. It was the residence
of an ex-governor of Miss., was used as a campsite by Early
US Troops and Civil War troops, and has the most unique
front yard I have ever seen. The front yard has many old
trees, rose bushes, and crape myrtle trees all of which have
a border around them which is lined with Period Bottles.
There are literally 1,000+ Bottles in the front yard. The
lady of the house showed us hand drawn pictures and photos
of the front yard and you could see Civil War Bottles everywhere. But today you can't see the tops of the bottles
because a previous owner covered them with 1 to 2 Inches of Dirt.
She let us use the pictures to find a row of bottles, dig
them up, and keep what we found. It was an unique experience
