I learned to hunt using an old Tesoro Inca, with an eleven inch concentric coil. Got to where I can pin point a percussion cap with that big loop.

While the big loop will give more depth in a clean area, even the "lowly" 4" loop will do better in a real trashy camp. Put three peices of junk and a button on a paper plate. Which loop will miss the trash and get the goody?

I own three loops, 4, 8 and 11 inch. All are used depending on the area. One trick is to hunt the same area with the differrent loops. An area I had "hunted out" with the biggest loop produced 5 buttons, 5 grommets and a gold pen point when hunted again with the 4".

I to have recieved no answer from Tesoro before. They do a good job of handleing the warrenties, but I just deal with my dealer on anything else now. As to wide scan or concentric, I feel the concentric has more uses than the wide scan.
