Hi Golddigger, I'm not tring to start an argument, but when I was in Texas I use to hunt with Richard Ray and we started a club with a bunch of his students from Alvin Com. Col. and we stuided the 'Texas Antiquity Law' which stated that 'Anything under the surface of the waters governed by the state or under the soil, more than 50 years old, belonged to the State of Texas.' Maybe they were only concerned with the guys that found the treasure ship off South Padrea Island, not us litte guys, but there is a law , unless it has been repealed. It was enforced by the Texas Antiquities Committe You might check it out; when another friend, Tom T., a writter wrote a book on the treasures of Texas, an article in it was about a C.W. cannon they found, the Tx.Antq. Com. hounded them about for years, wanting the cannon. Col. Gene
