Hi Rick, I have my Nautilus settings as follows:discrimination at 20, ground balance at 64,discriminate sensitivity at 9,all metal sensitivity at 3 and power at 44 volts.The ground where I found the plate had very little mineralization.It must have been on edge to cause me to only get a signal in one direction.I hope this helps.Good hunting.Ron
