Steve, I have to differ with you. The ratio of land hunters greatly out number those diving in rivers. With the increase in interest and the soaring prices of this stuff it is getting harder to find no matter what it is. Competition is stiff here in Mississippi. I remember when I started I could dig a thousand dollars in iron a day, but not any more. You could buy a 12 lb Bormann for $35.00, now they're 125.00 thats a heck of a increase. Everything from the CivilWar has increased and is getting hard to dig. Sure you can get lucky and hit a virgin spot or impact area that hasn't beenfound, those are far and few between, but sooner or later the well runs dry.So I will have to say," Digging a shell isn't as common as it once was." Heck, I'm tickled to dig a little 6 lb Solid these days. Oh, I met a local gent who dug his 1st shell in 5 years, now tell him its common.;) Persistance pays! Good Hunting, JR
