Rick, I have had a Nautilus about two years now and I had the same problem you did at first. There are several factors involved in pinpointing. First you must look a the size of your coil and recognize that you won't get perfection from a 10" coil. Second, listen to the target sound. A good crisp bullet size target is easier than a broken signal or a elongated signal to find. After taking these into consideration what I do is: Slow down the swing of your coil to a minimum and make a pass in one direction and once you have the location from that pass then make a pass 90 degrees to the first one. Also, do this as slow as possible. From these two I have been successful in pinpointing my targets. The next factors are target size and depth, understanding those only come with experience and even then it is not perfect(as my many dinged bullets indicate). Best of luck to ya!
