I was recently told about a sight where people were finding confederate buttons and gold coins. It is a construction sight in plain view of the highway. I decided to try my luck out there, and got permission to hunt the sight. I talked to another detectorist who was there who said he'd been threatened by other detectorists on the sight that said that it was their sight and wasn't going to put up with anyone else there. I can't believe that people in this hobby will threaten other people that have the same access to a sight. I guess it's called greed.
