Up here in Northern Virginia, I once came across a situation where the guy paid a job site foreman to only let him relic hunt on the job site. In another instance a relic hunter had his buddy, who happened to be the job site foreman, kick out all of the other relic hunters. Obviously it is nothing but greed, and in some instances the ignorance of a novice relic hunter, to prevent other relic hunters from digging a job site and getting out as many relics before the asphalt is dumped. But the way I look at it, there is a "Relic God" who punishes greedy relic hunters by letting them dig fewer good relics than they otherwise would have, making their detectors crap out when the relics are plentiful, or causing them to smack the good relics they do manage to locate.
