Steve - I don't know about your state but here in Az just last week I had reason to find out the same thing. I saw 3 Natl. Forest Rangers in a fast food place and asked them if detecting was allowed on Natl. Forest land and they said yes, except where there's private property within the forest boundary.Go to the horse's mouth. Good luck , Steve in so az
