Rick, I understand where you're coming from. I have researched sites for years before actually finding sites and then having to get permission from the landowners. But, I don't mind one bit if someone else stumbles across the site and hunts it. Matter of fact I enjoy their company. Some people are much better at their detecting than they are at research. I enjoy sharing and teaching others what I've learned through my research. As a matter of fact, I spend ten hours of research for every hour of detecting, and enjoy every minute of it. I've made many good friends by stumbling across them on sites. I don't view detecting as an way to increase my earnings, but view it as a recreational hobby, a way to fellowship with people that have the same interests as myself. I've even turned it into a familly afair as my wife and three children all have their own detectors and enjoy getting out in the woods together hunting relics as a familly. Let me point out one thing though, if a friend of mine takes me to a site and asks me not to tell anyone else about it, or not to come back without him, I always respect their wishes. A friendship is more valuable than a few relics. Also if I were to be asked to leave a site, even though I had permission, I would. Relics are not worth fighting over. There are more places to hunt in the back of my mind. I feel that this is what our hobby should be, but not what it is. Happy Hunting, ............Clyde
