Tell me more about this item. I found an identical "piece", however the shank is intact. Where the shank is welding/brazed it is square and down at the end of the shank it is "threaded". HOWEVER, I don't think mine is a button. It almost looks like a rosette, except there is a rim approximately 1/12" high that completed circles the object on the face, which makes the face of the button or whatever be recessed.
