Powder horn FOUND!!!

At a 18th Century homesite that has long been abandoned, I found a powder horn in the cellar lying above a huge hand hewn beam. The horn measures about 8" long, has a cork end, and it has a large C 'branded' in the middle of it. If anyone has ever seen anything like this or might know what this is, I would appreciate any help I could get in identifying this horn (period, use, etc.). Thanks for your help!!! Minuteman
