North Carolina State Seal button and Friends

Went detecting to an old Union campsite that had been pounded. Using my Cobra II metal detector began to dig signals everywhere. Iron signals were everywhere and many holes too- looked similar to what the moon looks like in pictures (FILL YOUR HOLES!!!). After a few hours of digging some bullets, I got this feint signal. I dug and dug and dug and about a foot and a half down out popped a button. I thought,"Oh well, another eagle button to my vast collection." I walked around for a few more hours digging bullets and iron. Calling it a day I drove home. Leaving the relic bag in my car, I went inside and deloused myself from a multitude of new found friends eating dinner, the same friends that normally prefer deer to human flesh (Ticks), and forgot about the relics. For some reason, a day later curiosity got me. I thought,"Hmmmmmmm... wonder what that button may be?" I went out to my car and got my digging bag and found the button and brought it inside the house. I began to take off the dirt with faucet water. Slowly as the dirt washed away I could make out a design. "I hope this is a Pennsylvania button", thinking to myself. With the mud off I still couldn't make out what was on the button. I was about to throw it in my "I don't know what it is box", but hesitated instead. Grabbing some lemmon juice and diluting the lemmon juice with a little water, I placed the button on a paper towel and began to lightly scrub it with a tooth brush. Slowly the mud started coming off;, The design could be seen. Beautiful gold gilt began to appear revealing a woman sitting with someone next to her. At the top of the button the following characters emerged with each brush. "N","O","R","T", began to make their appearance. Finally as if I were playing wheel of fortune. "I know what it is!!!';,"'It's a North Pennsylvania state seal button"!!! Yes...hmmm but there isn't a North Pennsylvania? Had I won the prize? Thinking just a little bit more..."Ahh- I know what it is! It's a North Carolina button!!! I had in fact won the prize. I placed the button in my button collection and just for the heck of it went back out to my relic bag just to make sure I didn't throw any other buttons in there that I had forgot about. As I looked into my bag I got the suprise of the day. I noticed two of my friends that must have been forgotten when I deloused myself a day earlier. I picked my friends the ticks off the bag and bid them a final goodbye.
