This is a "Phoenix" button. Ordered on uniforms for The king of Haiti in the early 1800's. He was gone before they were delivered, so the uniforms were sold to a trader who traded them to the indians of the northwest. Most (as many as 800+) were found at village sites there. I know of 4 found in the east (Tn & Va). A nice find.
