I live in Barre Massachusetts(central part of the state) about 10 miles from Brookfield, wich is where a major battle took place in King Phillip's war) I found a musket ball this morning in the side of a hill. (I know what you are thinking...so what? There are alot of musketballs in hillsides) Where I found this was at a local swimming hole.(part of the "ware river"There is a rope swing that swings from a tree that is on the hill. I dought very much that it is a "modern" musketball, because there is houses all around the swimming hole. From where I found it in the hillside, it was surely shot from across the river. The ball looks like to be of .62-.68 cal. Hard to tell as it has a flat spot. Sorry this was a little long but just wanted to give some details. Thanks Jon(MA)
