Researched the battle, bought the large 10 pound atlas of the Civil War, bought another book with more good maps of the battle, bought topo maps and plotted the battle then drove 70 miles to the site. Unloaded the XLT looked for signs-none-and started to search. The owner(or so he claimed) showed up and said no detrecting allowed and then proceeded to say his family owned the whole area of the battle(must be over 5000 acres). He smiled ,I smiled and thanked him and left and drove back 70 miles. Bummer.
