Hi again,

the soil in GA is a Mississippian clay that is high in iron contect. This redish soil therefore reads like iron all the time. The Nautilus should have no problem with this, but will have to be rebalanced regularly.

My partner also uses a MicroMax on trashy house sites. That machine apparently does well at avoiding small iron nails etc.

I've found my White's QII is as good as anything at avoiding nails. It never seases to amaze me in old house sites how I cut through the junk to get at the goodies. Small coils of course help at this.
