Am I correct in stating that all U. S. "silver" coins minted up to and including all of 1964 are made of an alloy of 90% silver and 10% copper. Also after 1964 silver coins were made of a 100% copper core sandwiched between two alloyed layers made of 75% copper and 25% nickel. Also, they minted half-dollars in 40% silver from 1965 to 1970.
When did the copper penny become a zinc core coated with a thin layer of copper.
