Met Cory today, after he drove 3 hours to get here. We checked the maps and headed out for a "DUD," day. The sites we checked have been heavily pounded over the years by the old timers, and the new diggers. We hunted hard in the woods and the fields, but came up empty. I did manage to squeeze up a brass rivet with nice green patina and old black leather still between the ends, a 1907 Indianhead, and a 1914 Wheat Penny ( no mint mark). Cory managed to recover a lead Poker Chip. We both found some 12th Ga Buttons (12 ga shotgun shells), and an assortment of modern bullets. Our primary site would have made the day much better, but all the home owners were gone to town to shop, etc., I mean "no one was home!" The best part of the day was meeting and getting to know another fellow digger, who's a great guy! We plan to hook up again in the coming months, and I guarantee you, our luck will be different next time. Keep Diggin'!! Darryl (VA)
