John, what's with you?! Don't lay any sneaky accusations on me! You don't know a thing about me! I hate seeing property abused too. I just see harassing anyone seen with a metal detector, as unlawful as well! I think it "STINKS," and that's my belief. I'm all for arresting people who sneak onto private property for any purpose. On the other hand, I'm dead set against giving the government to much power, while we are passive, and allow them to group us all together as criminals, and ban "free access," to "public property." When we metal detect on public property, we are metal detecting on "OUR OWN," property, because "WE ARE THE PUBLIC." I'm talking about the beaches, city parks, county parks, school yards, city, county, or state woods, except a designated historical site. This is public property. Now, a farm, construction site, private school, someone's yard, etc., this is private property. Don't blow what I said, out of proportion, John. The "FMDAC," is a legal establishment by those in our hobby who are responsible metal detectorists, that value our freedoms, and our hobby. BTW, for your info., FMDAC stands for: "Federation Of Metal Detector And Archaeological Clubs." It's funded by metal detector clubs and amatuer archaeologists "worldwide," and has attorneys on staff to fight for our "legal," rights. Now, if you disagree with that, well, I guess that's your right, but don't put me down for disagreeing with you. Darryl (VA)
