Hi,

yup, that's me. Anyone can find this stuff if they stand in the right spot. ;-) Hopefully we'll all find more.

I'm no expert nor do I have all the answers. I'd suggest these books: American Military Belt Plates by O'Donnell and Campbell and even better Plates & Buckles of the American Military 1795 - 1874 by Sydney C. Kerkis.

And as the other person said. Go back to those spots. Soldiers may have camped there. If so you'll find minie balls and buttons. Or the items may have come home with the returning troops. Kids loose stuff in the yard and there you have it. Some of the best CW stuff is at old houses since it was battlefield souverneirs.
