Thanks again for sharing your expertise, Eddie. I tried to send this once before but must have forgotten to hit the right button. The three tompions I found last week were all in a late-war (winter '64-65) camp, which I've only worked a small portion of. I guess the soldiers didn't think it was necessary to pack their tompions for the march over to Mobile for what would turn out to be one of the last major engagements of the war (or maybe the tompion corks just fell apart after so long, and the soldiers just dropped 'em when that happened?). Anyway, now I need to go back and look for those screws and nuts. Happy Hunting!
