I have recently re-discovered relic hunting and would like some advice from anyone. I own a whites eagle spectrum. I have owned this machine for about 9 yrs. I have detected off and on during those years, but am now taking it seriously. I have found a few spots that are good relic sites but the only coil I have is the one sent with my machine. I have thought of ordering a larger coil, but I have also thought of ordering a new machine for relic hunting / backup.( my kids have expressed an interest in joining me.) I have talked with lots of dealers and they all want to sell me something. What would be the best detector to buy? the 1266, badido umax, minelab musketeer xs, nautalis dmc, or do I already have the best and should just buy the coil and get the kids a cheapo. I live in se KY so ground minerals are not a big concern although I do visit a friend in N. Alabama once or twice a year and the ground is very mineralized. thanks, wayne
