It varies. No dug with 100% known authinic back ground are very desirable. Some buttons have been sold that are non-dug, with no counter parts being found in any locations. Are they real? Know your seller, get a return policy if it checks out as other than good.

Dug buttons have an appeal as they went to war. You know where they came from (not all cases, but general idea on a lot of them). Veterns wore buttons as well, and they visited their old battle fields, so beware the dug post war buttons.

The top person for contacting is Daniel Binder. He collects non-dug buttons, and knows them inside and out. I will pass your email address to him, and maybe you can make contact.
