Use the small coils mentioned in the last post, and a machine with a silent reject. Fisher gives better depth, but Tesoro doesn't drive you nuts telling you it is rejecting something. Know a few folks that use a Whites, but they are few and far between here in the SE. Tn, NW. Ga. part of the country.

Be patient! That, above all else, is the main thing. Work it slowly, and dig anything that sounds off. I know first hand that sometimes good things sound like iron, and not all iron is bad!
