Military Branch Collar Insignia

The other day I found what I think is a brass or copper Quartermaster Corps collar insignia? I was detecting in a park next to a school built in 1909, the neighborhood has homes built in the late 1800's. The insignia was at about 5", with no corrosion, though any polish is gone. The eagle, above the wheel and crossed sword and key is worn but can still be seen. The size is a little biger than a quarter The backing is a screw thread with a back plate that slid over the screw to a square section at the head, no nut for the back was found. The insignia is one piece except for the backing plate. Any one have any idea as to its date or where I could look it up?
