The 1266-X is probably a good choice for relic hunting. I've used one for a number of years.. Very simple to use, noisy, but quite deep seeking.. I understand that Nautilus(sp) makes one that goes deeper, but in my opinion, they're much harder to learn on than the 1266-X.. Fisher also makes the CZ models which have target ID; useful for coinshooting, but not as practical for relics..
