Jan, Years ago a WWII vet told me about diving on a U boat off Sarasota Fl. He wanted to recovered it for the mercury. Does anyone know if the ballast and dive device was a long cylinder half full of Hg.? If it was, then there would be a reason to salvage for economics and the enviroment. rhodium
