Shipwreck Permit For Sale in Ecuador

A shipwreck permit in Ecuador is currently being auctioned for sale. Bids will be accepted until June 1, 1999.

The permit area is known as Mar Bravo and is located on the west coast of Punta Santa Helena. The area covers 42 square nautical miles with approximately 6 miles of shoreline. It contains several historical treasure wrecks.

The contract with the Ecuadorian government grants 50% of the recovered treasure to the salvagers.
