Yes there is an effort. We, the Hungarian Octopus Maritime Archaeological Research Association have got a permission from the National Monument Council of South Africa to excavate the Grosvenor wreck. The excavation is going very well. Many of the artifacts are in the East London Museum. Some examples: - upper part of the ship's bell - a pistol - star pagodas, Indian and European gold and silver coins - canonballs and musket balls (some of them used, to prove the battle after the departure) The excavation continues now.
