Salvage of the Century

October 26, 2001 at 17:39:38

In the July/August edition of International Tug & Salvage, (which I have only just received) there is an article headed Salvage of the century.

It is about a new book written by Ric Wharton, with that name. It deals with the salvage of 5.5 tons of gold from the HMS Edinborugh. Wharton is one of the 2W's who did the diving for the gold.

The book is hardback, 210mm x 260mm, 214 pages. Price 19.95 english pounds, plus P&P. Available from Reed's Nautical Books, The Barn, Ford Farm, Bradford Leigh, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, BA15 2Rp, UK email tugsrus@ebreed.demon.co.uk website:www.reedsnautical.com

This is not posted as an advertisement or an endorsement for the book, but I have read Stalin's Gold which was also about the same subject and that was a good read. I have also seen a video of the operation which was also very interesting.
