Gloria, I spoke with an old gentleman by the name of Ed Bartholomew last Nov. He has done considerable research on Texas treasures. He is almost blind and doesn't hear well either, but is friendly and approachable. I do not have his phone or address handy, but he usually can not hear the phone ring anyway. He has a machine that helps him read. So send him a letter "in care of" Fort Davis Chamber of Commerce, Ft. Davis, TX (zip?) He doesn't live far from the Chamber's office and someone will see that he gets it. I stopped in there to get his address when I visited and they folks were very helpful. Ed used to write under the pen name of Jesse Ed Rascoe and has self published many books on western history. He is also a member of the Western Writers Association. If you can afford the trip to visit him I do recommend it. Ft Davis is a beautiful place in West Texas. Ed is getting very old but would probably greatly appreciate the company and conversation so, if you can visit I am sure you will be greatly rewarded for the experience. Good Luck!
