Visualize a square, nine inches by nine inches scratched out on a rock face. The square has two circles in the upper third about equi-distant from each other and the sides of the square.

The lower four inches of this square has been pecked out.

There are two straight lines coming down from the bottom of the square near the center about three inches apart.

On top of the square are three inverted V's about equi-distant. The center inverted V is taller than the other two.

This picture is on a rock, approximately three quarters of a mile from the nearest gravel road, and eight miles from the nearest known house.

My guess is the inverted V's represent a crown. The circles are eyes, and the pecked out lower section represents a beard. There is nothing to represent a nose. The two straight lines down below represent a neck. Nothing to represent ears.

By the way, it was found in the desert in New Mexico.

Has anyone ever seen something like this or any idea what it represents?
